Sensible sand eel quota

The Directorate for Fisheries has announced Denmark's total sand eel quota for 2011, which is 334,324 tons.

- We had hoped for a quota of 400-500,000 tons, but a total Danish quota of just over 300,000 tons should ensure that TripleNine gets the raw materials it needs, says Managing Director Christian Bisgaard.

- In any case, we will avoid the problems we had last year when fishing had to stop completely for a couple of weeks because the final quota had not yet been agreed, he adds.
