Missing Norway spout

Missing Norway spout

Norway spout fishing is not allowed this year. This negatively affects the flow through the factory.

- Although we are still ahead of the situation last year in terms of the total quantity of raw material received, we are beginning to notice the lack of the supplies of Norway spout which we received in August and September last year, as they helped provide an even flow of raw materials to the factory, says Christian Bisgaard, Managing Director of TripleNine.

- Although trial fishing of 5,000 tons of Norway spout has been agreed, that is a drop in the ocean, he adds.

The purpose of the trial fishing is the further development of a grate which allows Norway spout to be caught without catching edible fish and other species as well.

- We are now waiting for the sprat fishing in the North Sea to get underway as it usually does already in August. Later on, sprat should also be landed from the Baltic Sea, says Christian Bisgaard.
